TRANSPORTATION TIPS

When collecting your cake, please ensure that you transport the cake in either the foot-well or boot space of your vehicle. Ensure the area is clean and clear before you arrive to pick up your cake.

Please be aware that placing a cake on a seat, lap or uneven surface even for a short journey may affect the stability and internal structure of the cake, which could result in irreparable damage.

It is strongly recommended to travel with the air conditioning on, keeping the area relatively cool and far from warm. The temperature affects the cake, a warm environment can result in the cake layers tilting and icing melting out of place and off your cake.

It is recommended that a cake is taken directly to it’s intended venue, as lengthy time spent in a vehicle may cause damage to your cake. If you do take it home prior to your event, ensure the cake remains in it’s packaging and kept out of sunlight, in a cool environment. Further transport to the venue should be made following the above guidelines.

When setting your cake up at the venue, please ensure that the cake is placed on an even & sturdy surface out of direct sunlight and/or a warm environment.

Consume your cake within 6 hours of it being placed outside of a cool environment/ refrigerator to prevent sickness and deterioration of the cake’s quality.

If there is an accident or any damage occurs to your cake prior to the event, contact Cakes by Sophie via 0432977278 with photographs and information of the damage done. If able and repairs are possible, a call out fee of $200 will occur.

If there are leftovers of the cake after your event, keep in a tight-sealed container and store in your refrigerator no more than one week.
